Famous for stripping down 3D graphics to the point of absurdity, the animated films of young Irish-born filmmaker and artist David OReilly have garnered over 80 awards, including the Golden Bear. Having recently stormed the world of video game and app development, OReilly’s œuvre awes in its defiance of traditional aesthetics and formats. Taking time away from the premiere of his newest „game-that-is-also-a-film,“ «Everything», in competition at Berlinale Shorts, OReilly recounts his meteoric career and the choices and chances that landed him in the world of games.
